Seafood 2-Go offers great tasting fish and seafood to folks in Blairsville, Georgia. Owner Tracy Evans says, "If it wasn't swimming yesterday, it's not coming to Blairsville today." At least once a week, Tracy heads to Apalachicola , Florida to see what's just off the boats and only the best gets brought back to Georgia .
Seafood 2-Go offers dine in and carry out services. Menu items include a variety of steamed, grilled, or fried seafood and fish. Daily specials, crab cakes, sandwiches, soups, tasty side items, and fresh seafood and fish (packed in ice for the trip home) are also available.
Owners Tracy and Dottie Evans are excited about their new restaurant and market. Dottie says, "We have been thinking about opening a second market and in December of 2007 we decided to go for it."
As a new member of the Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce, Seafood 2-Go has gained a readymade customer base. Chamber members and ambassadors welcome new businesses to town, help get the word out, and lend support. Of course, if the new business has a good product to offer, repeat business is guaranteed.
Seafood 2-Go's recent Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting was a midmorning feast. Steamed jumbo shrimp, smoked salmon dip, seafood chowder, and other delicacies tempted even hardcore steak lovers to take a bite.
Tracy says, "We depend on word of mouth in this business. When people eat our food they can tell it is fresh. I only buy the highest quality fresh fish and seafood. That's what makes a difference." Tracy Evans knows a lot about the seafood industry. He has twenty year experience including everything from hauling fresh seafood to working on shrimp boats.
Seafood 2-Go is family owned and operated. The Blairsville, Georgia store is Tracy and Donna Evans' second seafood market. Donna explains, "We started our first market in April of 1996 down in Florida. Our oldest son, Thomas, is running it now, and our sixteen year old son, Royce, is helping us up here in Blairsville."
