Restaurant owner Phyllis Davis says, "I am fulfilling my life long dream or owning and operating my own restaurant. I love being creative and entertaining, but I also love the day to day challenges and details of running a fine restaurant." Phyllis continues, "Running a restaurant is a good way to meet people within our community. Every person I meet has a special life story and if the restaurant provides a place to share memories - it makes me happy."
Owner Phyllis Davis spent thirty years helping and caring for others as a Registered Nurse. During that time she organized the Central Florida Chapter of N.A.O.N. (National Association of Orthopedic Nurses). Nearing retirement, she, along with husband Steve, began preparations for fulfilling the dream of owning a restaurant. After walking through the old Butt house in 2006, they knew it was the perfect place. Phyllis adds, "When traveling, we are always drawn toward the older houses. We immediately loved the charm of this 1892 "Plantation House."
Steve Davis is an architect and worked closely with Phyllis to create The Plantation House Restaurant. He is also actively involved in day to day operations. They live in the Track Rock area of Union County .
