2010 Flower Show at Union County Civic Center

August 20, 2010 - Over 110 entries in Union County and Blairsville Community Flower Show

The Union County Farmer's Market Community Flower Show was recently held at the Union County Civic Center. Show divisions included the Horticulture Division, the Design Division, and the Youth Division. Section categories consisted of Flowers (cut specimens), Trees/Shrubs (cut and container), Hanging Containers, Native Plants, Bonsai, Bud Vase, Centerpiece, Vase Arrangement Presentation, and Bouquet. Everything from Medicinal Herbs to Broadleaf Evergreens was represented in the show. There were over 110 entries!

Favorites included beautiful old bonsai trees, old fashioned roses, a giant hosta bloom, rare begonias, succulent plantings, native wildflowers, tropical houseplants, artistic arrangements, and more. Tables were filled with gorgeous centerpieces, individual bud vases, and creative designs.

The Community Flower Show was hosted by the Towns-Union County Master Gardeners, the local Garden Clubs, the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Office , the Commissioner's Office, and the Farmer's Market Committee.
