Nutritionist Ann Marie Stanczyk joins Chamber of Commerce

Personalized Nutritional Consultant Ann Marie Stanczyk, M.S., M.T. recently joined the Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce and celebrated with a ribbon cutting. Friends, business representatives, members of the community, and chamber staff enjoyed meeting with Ms. Stanczyk.

Stanczyk gave an interesting presentation. She asked for volunteers to "eat an orange." During the demonstration, Stanczyk explained various tips for good nutrition. "After you eat the inside, try a little of the white part. That's where the most antioxidants and flavonoids are located." She went on to show how squeezing the outer orange-peel releases essential oils. Guests were fascinated and everyone learned new things about good nutrition.

According to Stanczyk, "Nutrition is a cornerstone of good health and most likely a very important missing link in today's healthcare system." Stanczyk received her BA degree in Biology from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and a MT degree from Bridgeport Hospital School of Medical Technology. She received her Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health in Birmingham , Alabama and a Certification in Culinary Arts and National Certification in ServSafe and Nutrition from North Georgia Technical College in Blairsville, Georgia.

Stanczyk has a wide range of experience and understanding in Bacteriology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, and Serology due to almost two decades of employment in a hospital laboratory setting. Stanczyk has also taught numerous classes in Organic Gardening, Wild Food Gathering, Healthy Cooking, and Nutrition at Young Harris College as part of the Institute for Continued Learning program.
