June 8, 2010 - Mountain Coin Club in Blairsville, Georgia
The Mountain Coin Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Union County Civic Center in Blairsville, Georgia. Director of Marketing Charles Johnston says, "Our meetings focus on information and education. The club members get together for fellowship and to share the love of coin collecting."
Charles Johnston, President Bill Thrift, Vice President Jim Bell, and Director of Education Dr. Nancy Kelly are available at meetings to answer questions. Meetings are fun, informative, and educational.
Guest speakers and presentations are scheduled for most meetings. Subjects focus on American coins - although world coins are also an area of interest. Presentations cover everything from grading coins and types of coins to the Lincoln Wheat Penny, Morgan Silver Dollar, and Queen Victoria Currency. There are also items for sale including a large inventory of current books, coin holders, and other numismatic paraphernalia.
The Mountain Coin Club welcomes new members. Annual dues are just $15 for families or $10 for individuals. All paid members are invited to place items in the monthly auction where various coins and other related items of interest are sold. Both guests and members are welcome to place bids.
The Mountain Coin Club is a member of the Georgia Numismatic Association.
