Mountain Yarn Opens in Blairsville, Georgia
Bill McGlamery and Pat Chastain Pendleton recently opened Mountain Yarn in Blairsville, Georgia. The new store celebrated with a Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Many local citizens, dignitaries, and ambassadors from area banks attended the event.
Mountain Yarn offers high quality yarns from all over the world. They carry supplies for knitting and crocheting including books, patterns, and a full line of notions. Classes will be offered for beginners, as well as for intermediate and advanced knitters.
Pat and Bill opened Mountain Yarn after their research indicated a desire in the community for a source of high quality yarn. Pat says, "I managed a knit shop in Augusta and wanted to come home. Bill and I looked for a need in Blairsville and a yarn shop seemed perfect."
Bill McGlamery is a graduate of Stratford University with a BS in advertising and has extensive experience in owning and managing businesses.
Pat Chastain Pendleton attended Augusta State University. She has been active in many civic groups.
Pat and Bill would like to thank dear friends Lynn Anderson, Selly Goodwin, Joeann Nathan, and Shenna Karavitch. They were very inspiring, encouraging, and helpful throughout the planning and opening of the new shop.
Pat and Bill are natives of Union County and are first cousins. They are delighted to be a part of the community.
