December 4, 2007 - Leadership Union 2008 offers unique learning opportunities in Blairsville, Georgia

The Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for Leadership Union 2008 which will begin January 8th with a Kick-Off Banquet and Orientation. The 12 week program prepares participants for leadership roles within their respective organizations and communities.

Chamber President Cindy Williams is excited about the program. She says, "The primary benefit of Leadership Union is two-fold. It provides affordable leadership training to our local businesses in addition to giving an inside look at the interworking of our community."

Leadership Union 2008 is a biennial program open to anyone who lives or works in Union County and is 18 years of age or older. Accepted applicants for Leadership Union 2008 include: Andrew Akins, Julie Barton, Joe Belanger, Glenda Brown , Chris Busbee, Cindy Clemmons, Heather Devereaux, Dorothy Hansen, Janet Hartman, Donnie Kelley, Debi Kohler, Greg Owenby, Debbie Roach, Judy Rogers, Polly Simpson, Ashley Warren, and Bo Wright.

Leadership Union 2008 will consist of ten workshop sessions at the North Georgia Technical College Blairsville Campus, a day-long field trip to the Georgia State Capitol, and a Graduation Banquet celebration. All materials and meals are included in the tuition.

Leadership Union 2008 promises to be an interesting and informative program with local professionals leading the various classes. Scheduled topics include understanding leadership, team dynamics, communication and personalities, entrepreneurship, economic development, and local government.
