September 3, 2010 - Blairsville Huddle House back in business
The Blairsville Huddle House recently opened its doors to old and new customers in Union County. One hundred people were happy to receive free breakfasts on opening day!
The Huddle House Menu includes old favorites such as Smokehouse Breakfast Platters, Heavenly Omelets, and Golden Waffles. There are new choices including Chop House Burgers and Sandwich Combos. Dinner platters include Country Fried Steak, Ribeye Steak, Butterfly Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, Chopped Steak, Grilled Chicken, and Porterhouse Pork Chops. There is also a good variety of salads. Favorites include Crispy Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad, Ham Salad, and Tossed Salads.
Owner Matt Leonard says, "We want the Huddle House to be a part of Blairsville, Georgia just like it used to be. The Huddle House is a place where friends can gather and families can feel comfortable with their kids. We love little kids at the Huddle House!"
The Huddle House offers good food with reasonable prices and friendly service. All kinds of special events are in the planning stages. Everything from live music to Bingo night and Grits and Gospel Fundraisers are coming up soon (see Matt for details).
Matt adds, "Opening my own restaurant has been my lifelong dream and Huddle House gave me the opportunity to do it." Matt Leonard has been in the restaurant business for 22 years. He was Training Store Manager at Cooperate Huddle House in Cumming , Georgia for three years where he trained over 100 franchises. Matt is married and has two young daughters. He attended the Culinary Program at the Art Institute of Atlanta and has been cooking for 15 years.
The Blairsville Huddle House has undergone extensive remodeling inside and out. It is now updated to 2010 standards. There will be an official Welcoming Back Party in October so look for announcements in the North Georgia News.
