Horsefeathers Embroidery and Stichin' Post recently held a Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting to celebrate their grand opening. Friends and members of the business community welcomed the new home-based business to Blairsville.

Owner Barbara Johnson says, "We specialize in exceeding our customer's expectations." Horsefeathers is home to commercial equipment that is capable of turning out production work. Services include custom embroidery, landscape quilting, and "for hire" sewing and alterations. Specialties include English riding attire, equine accessories, and the creation of unique, fun, custom made items (with or without embroidery) including memory, art and landscape quilts, purses, home decor items, and items that enhance the lives of animals.

Barbara Johnson has extensive corporate experience and is now officially retired from AT&T. She is currently a member of the Misty Mountain Quilter's Guild, the Business Women of Blairsville, and now the Blairsville-Union Chamber of Commerce. Barbara and husband Bob are from Dallas, Texas. They live in the Trackrock area of Union County with their cat, four dogs, and two horses.
