December 5, 2008 - Holiday activities at Curves of Blairsville

Curves of Blairsville in Union County is happy to share some exciting happenings. Members and staff are sponsoring a family for the holiday season with the Family to Family Christmas Program. Curves members, staff members, and friends are busy shopping for presents to share with a less fortunate family. Drop off point is the Curves facility located at 144 Blue Ridge Street in Highlands Plaza (where a wish list is also available).

Curves members have also participated in the recent Christmas Parade and are currently preparing for a craft sale. On December 10th , Curves members will get the chance to show off their talents. The Holiday Bazaar is open to the public and will feature all kinds of arts and crafts. Everyone is welcome to stop by for a visit and do some holiday shopping.

Curves is looking forward to the New Year. The new CurvesSmart (Precision Designed Workout) provides moment-to-moment feedback and progress reports that help to greatly increase motivation levels. Curves celebrates with Chamber Ribbon Cutting and Open House in Blairsville, Georgai

Curves of Blairsville recently moved to its new location and hosted a Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting. Curves members, guests, friends, chamber ambassadors, and representatives of the business community joined with business owner Jackie Townley and Blairsville Curves Manager Lynda Shook for the open house celebration.

Jackie Townley introduced the Curves staff and welcomed everyone to the event. She said, "We are excited about the move and intend to make this the best Curves ever. Manager Lynda Shook is dedicated and I'm so glad to have her." Townley opened her first Curves facility in 2003 and currently owns multiple locations including Cleveland, Cornelia, Clarkesville, Clermont, Lula, and Blairsville.

Curves is a place for women to get a complete workout in 30 minutes. It's all about women's fitness. The total body workout combines strength training and cardio with friendly, professional trainers to help, teach, and inspire. There are over 10,000 locations worldwide. As they say, "Join Curves and amaze yourself. This workout really works."

Curves is a great asset to Blairsville, Georgia. The building, owned by Jim Williams, has been remodeled from top to bottom. Located at 144 Blue Ridge Street, the atmosphere is bright and refreshing. Williams has improved the whole complex, even the parking lot is attractive and inviting with professional landscaping.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed cucumber tea sandwiches, homemade goodies, chocolate covered strawberries, punch, and other "low calorie" and delicious treats.
